Finished off the rudder (for now) by installing the rudder bearing rods and set lengths to plans. Used the famous (infamous?) rod end bearing tool made from PVC. It worked ok but once the torque got tight, I had to switch to using cleco plyers to finish setting the rod end bearings to their proper depth. Used a small strip of clear tape to mark the depth limits required for each rod end bearing. If you don't own a ruler or measuring device that can measure in 64th's of an inch, you will need to get one as all the rod end bearing measurements are in 64ths of an inch.
With that completed, time to install some wall hangers and wrap the rudder in bubble wrap (loosely so there's no moisture collecting) to hang on the garage wall. Don't forget you will need to store these parts somewhere while you work on everything else! Just realized the horizontal stab is going to be too big to store in the garage...... hmmmm.....
